It had to happen eventually! Today we cover the biggest thing in gaming in the past decade, World of Warcraft. Sam Roos (IO's Attica, Evil) takes us through the process of being lured in, getting good, and eventually realizing it's just not important to you anymore. Along the way we talk Counterstrike, Devil Make Cry, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Tim describes how the wind knocked a pizza slice out of his hand.

It's the first new Your Stories of 2014! So we might as well spend it looking back at the year that was, right? Right! This is our second annual Annual episode! Lots of folks felt inspired to perform music this time, and there are some stellar stories on top.

Break out the Entertainment Weekly and pull up IMDb and AV Club in different browser tabs because Rob and I are about to get deep into some pop culture goodness. Rob is an incredibly nice guy and an excellent actor/improviser, and he goes into some really interesting details on how he became a fan of pop culture in general (Looney Toons played a big role!) and how it continues to feed into his creative life (the phrase "Comedy Cops" is used!).

Happy new year! We start 2014 off with a brand new guest, John Sabine (The Late 90's, Second City) discussing Gone Home (skip 8:00 - 12:00 if you haven't played it) and his love/addiction for Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword. Enjoy the episode; here's the link to the game's grammy winning soundtrack:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb-jk6Ftx7o

It's fitting Matt chose to talk about board games because I think this episode has the fun and enthusiasm of sitting down for a rousing game with friends. Matt tells the best stories and so aptly applies his love of board games to his job with gamification AND to his passion for improv in the search for the game and beyond.

Folks, it's here. Episode 54, and our 2013 retrospective with our good friend Kellen Terrett. We look back at news stories, best and worst games, and things we're looking forward to. It's a big 'ol dog pile of love with the exception of yelling at Tim's "Most Anticipated Game" pick. Happy new year!

2013 Year-End Wrap Up

From the podcast: Your Stories

Monday, December 30th, 2013

It's the last Your Stories podcast of 2013, and just like last year, we thought we'd take this time to highlight some of our favorite stories from the previous 12 months. We've also got brand new introductions to these tales by some Nerdologues/audience members who liked them a whole lot, as well as the usual musical accompaniment.

Hola mis amigos! Enjoy this sweet ep with my new friend Christopher Kidder-Mostrom who explores his passion for translating that started in a grad program and has culminated in his theatre company Commedia Beauregard. Chris and his company have an incredible mission statement to bring important works of theatre from other languages into English while keeping the essence of the pieces intact.
