December 2011 Part 1

From the podcast: Your Stories

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

The Nerdologues Presents: Your Stories is a storytelling podcast sponsored by the Chicago sketch comedy troupe the Nerdologues that features totally audience-generated content. Each month people share stories, songs, sketches and the like about their experiences being a nerd. They can be funny, poignant or even outright sad, but they’re all honest and they’re all fantastic.

In our inaugural episode, we get tales from four veteran Chicago actors, writers and improvisers. First up, Steve Persch shows us the dark lengths to which his obsession with song lyrics can go. Then, Claire Freidman talks about the growing pains of leaving beloved activities behind. Mary Zee details about her teenage experiences being a nerd for Jesus, and finally Caitlin Costello reflects on keeping close the comforts of home while studying abroad. Additionally, Dwight Haesler and Eric Garneau of the band Take Cover provide musical accompaniment.

The second part of December’s episode drops on the 15th of the month. If you’d like to take part in a Your Stories event and possibly be a part of the podcast, come to the Pub Theater, 3220 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, the third Sunday of every month. The next show’s December 18. Even if you don’t want to participate, it’s free to watch. Bring your friends!
