As of today, the Nerdologues Presents: Your Stories podcast is one year old! How about that? To celebrate, enjoy the first of two episodes with the theme of "annual," because time is a-passin' and we've got things to commemorate.

If you're an ardent listener of this podcast, you may be wondering where the latest Your Stories episode is. "It's September 1st," you are saying to me, hypothetical person - "Make with the funny!"

Hey, look, it's an episode you didn't expect! This week, original Nerdologues members Kevin Walsh and John Thibodeaux had a chat with me about their newest project, The Startup. Also, since it's fanfiction month, Kevin Walsh shares a prepared piece that old-school Nerdologues fans might recognize.

The Nerdologues Present: Your Stories podcast released its first episode on December 1, 2011 (it came over to Podbean on December 10). That means that, by the time the next episode of Your Stories drops, the podcast will have turned one year old. This is pretty exciting. Everyone involved with Your Stories absolutely loves it, and it wouldn't be the show it is without you guys - the people sharing stories and the people listening at home.

Here's the second and final episode we recorded at Chicago's excellent Cat & Mouse Game Store, and just like last time we're back talking about all things game-related.

To match our temporary new environment, we decided to ask people to use "Games" as their topic, and we got a lot of great stories!

This month, Your Stories is taking on the topic of fanfiction with tales that both analyze and embody this wonderful facet of nerd culture.

Do nerds play sports? Of course they do! And while we hate to stereotype, it just so happens that the crop of nerdy storytellers we've got this month specialize in, let's say, sports that are more off-the-beaten path.
